Ancho Ranchero

Ancho Ranchero is a large poblano type pepper, with 5 by 3 inch fruit. The plants are large and leafy, with plenty of cover to protect the peppers from sun scald. The dark green fruit ripen to bright red. You can use either color for fresh cooking, or dry the ripe red fruit to make ancho chile powder. Mild heat - 1000 to 2000 SHU.  75 days.
