Description

Silver Ponyfoot (Dichondra argentea) is a fast-growing, drought-tolerant perennial ground cover native to the southwestern United States and Mexico. It features distinctive, small, rounded leaves with a striking silvery-white or silver-green hue and a soft, velvety texture. The plant spreads rapidly to form a dense, low mat, typically reaching 3 to 6 inches in height, making it an excellent "living mulch" or lawn alternative. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates heat, poor soils, and light foot traffic. While it produces tiny, inconspicuous white flowers, it is primarily grown for its unique foliage. It is deer-resistant and requires minimal maintenance once established.
