Scarlet Bee Balm

As the name implies, bees love this perennial herb, with its beautiful showy flowers on 2-4' high stalks.  As a member of the mint family, Bee Balm will slowly spread by rhizomes and seed drop, forming clustered colonies of plants.  It is used as an herb, often called bergamot, to add a silky mouthfeel and herbal note to teas.  The flowers are also edible, adding a citrusy flavor to salads.
