Description
Pheasant Tail Grass (Stipa arundinacea) is a striking, clump-forming perennial native to Central Asia and parts of Europe. It is known for airy, feathery, blonde seed heads borne in July from olive-green narrow leaves. Handsome orange hues infiltrate the clump throughout summer and become dominant in late autumn and into winter. This clumping grass maintains a vase shape and is perfect for coloring up your grass garden—the more sun, the more color. Best to cut back sparingly. Can reach 3' tall by 2' wide.
