Christmas Cactus

The Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera bridgesii) is a popular tropical succulent native to the coastal mountains of Brazil. Unlike desert cacti, it thrives in humid conditions and indirect light, making it an ideal houseplant. It is named for its tendency to bloom around the Christmas season, producing stunning tubular flowers in shades of red, pink, white, orange, or purple. The plant features flattened, segmented stems with scalloped edges that cascade gracefully, making it well-suited to hanging baskets.  Cooler temperatures encourage blooming.
