Description

The Blackfoot daisy (Melampodium leucanthum) is a hardy, evergreen perennial native to the southwestern United States and Mexico. It features small, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centers and pure white petals that bloom profusely from spring through fall. This low-growing plant typically reaches 12 to 18 inches in height and spreads similarly, forming a dense, mounding ground cover. It thrives in full sun and well-drained, rocky, or sandy soils, making it highly drought-tolerant once established. Popular for xeriscaping and rock gardens, it is also deer-resistant and attracts pollinators like butterflies and bees.
